A second spring

By Magnus Laupa – It is Sunday afternoon in Shanghai, and despite it being one of the first spring days, the dance floor in the dating club ”New Spring” is full. Grandpas are swinging, grannies are twisting, single dancers groove sideways across the dance floor and back. At the front, by the mirrors, a man is standing on his head. Since the reforms in China, divorces have become ever more common, and many of these people married not for love but for practical reason or by encouragement of their work units. Now, in their old days, they have a chance to find somebody they have things in common with.
