Neo-Nazis in USA

2010-02-25

The number of hate groups is at a record high level in the US – the increase has been over 66 percent since the year 2000, according to an SPLC report. Bad economy and the election of a black president fuels the situation further. The National Socialist Movement is the largest white supremacist group in the country. They work for a racially segregated US. "We just keep growing. If you stop for food or go to have your taxes done, you could be talking to a white national socialist," says Jeff Hall, leader of NSM California. The main reason for the rise of the neo-nazi groups is their new focus on illegal immigration. Jeff Hall organizes voluntary patrols at the US-Mexican border almost every weekend. “Too many flies and the dog dies – we can’t take more illegal immigration. People say it’s decreasing because of the economy, but I say: come to the border and look for yourselves! It’s like a rabbit trail out there!” Text by: Anna Roxvall
