Swedish Summer

Summer makes us high on life after winter’s drowse. The intensity of this season can only be fully understood by those who have lived through long months of complete darkness. Summer define us Swedes, it brings us together, perhaps more than we can imagine. So much is planned for these few weeks every year. Our presence, hope, the sense of belonging between family members, our desire, all that pent up longing … is saved up for summer. Swedish summer lasts during June, July and August. Most of the time it rains.
