2008-09-20

From being at the top of the world in the end of the 1980:s, the biggest name in skateboard ever, Tony Hawk, became a nobody when the skateboarding industry totally collapsed in the beginning of the 1990:s. Skateboarding seemed disappearing to never come back . Who once was a star was now struggling to survive with skate shows in shopping malls. The thousands had turn into twenties. Skateboarding was declared dead. Nine years later, in 1999, Tony Hawk's carrier was on the rise again. With the release of his own Sony Playstation game - Tony Hawk Skateboarding - and the enter of the X-games that broadcasted all over the US, Tony was back. In 2008, 17 years after everybody thought his career was over and skateboarding dead, the 40 year old Hawk is now traveling the world with his ramp show that fills stadiums and are now counted as one of the celebrities in Hollywood.
